RFP for Route and Community Anchor Institution Surveys for Use in Development, Procurement and Construction of Western Massachusetts Middle Mile Broadband Network
Summary:
The Massachusetts Technology Collaborative (“MTC”), on behalf of the Massachusetts Broadband Institute (the “MBI”), is issuing this request for proposals (“RFP”) to select a contractor to perform route and Community Anchor Institution (“CAI”) outside surveys (as set forth in Section 2, the “Route Validation Services”) to be used in connection with development, procurement and construction of the MassBroadband 123 network, a proposed "middle mile" network of over 1,100 miles in western and north central Massachusetts that will be built with over $70 million of public funds. MTC acts as the contracting entity on behalf of the MBI. As such, MTC will be the contracting counter-party with the Route Validation Services contractor(s). But for purposes of this RFP (and except where the specific context warrants otherwise), the MBI and MTC are collectively referred to as MBI.
